Exceptional diamonds

The already famous Peace Diamond was recently found in Sierra Leone and is the 14^th largest rough diamond ever found. The highest bidder was the British jeweller Graff, that also bought the bigger Lesedi La Rona at the end of June.

What’s special about ‘the Art of the Grisogono, Creation 1’? How much is this rare gemstone worth? Whoever wants to buy this special diamond, will need a big investment portfolio. They expect that the historically emerald cut diamond will be auctioned for at least 30 million. After the Lesedi la Rona finally got sold, we’re looking forward for the auctioning of this special diamond.

We hardly ever hear any good news coming from the raw materials industry. This week however, there was some astonishing news. Miners from the Australian Lucapa Diamond Company have found one of the largest diamonds ever. The diamond ranks number 27 on the list of top diamonds.

One of the best investments in the economically unstable 2015 was without a doubt cacao. The value increase in international markets was 9,7%, while many other raw materials such as gas (-17,4%), crude oil (-32,11%), iron ore (-32,35%) and copper (-24,77) sustained heavy losses. Everyone loves chocolate, regardless of the economic conditions. A constant high demand leads to price increase in the market with a stable or declining supply.

An increasing number of investors are going for the investing in diamonds or gold option in times of crisis. These raw materials never lose their intrinsic value and are therefore a safe choice. But all they all equally stable?
